The Flavor Lab: Global Baking

Offered in partnership with The Homeschool Hangar and led by Chef Mark Hennessy, The Flavor Lab is where science meets the kitchen! This unique, hands-on course combines culinary skills with real-world science, giving homeschoolers the chance to experiment, cook, and learn in every class. This version of The Flavor Lab will take your student on a hands-on culinary journey exploring global baking traditions, food science, and cultural storytelling through dessert and bread making. By the end of this 6-week global baking course, students will confidently apply core baking science, understand diverse cultural traditions, and work skillfully with doughs, batters, and foam-based structures. They'll also master temperature, texture, and moisture control while building real hands-on baking confidence and kitchen safety skills, creating a strong foundation for future culinary exploration.
