Graphic Design with Canva - October Session

A 6-Week Creative Course This engaging and hands-on course introduces students to the fundamentals of graphic design using Canva, an accessible and powerful online design tool. Through a combination of guided lessons, creative challenges, and real-world projects, students will develop skills in layout, typography, color theory, and visual storytelling. By the end of the course, students will have a professional design portfolio showcasing their work in social media graphics, posters, presentations, and more. The course is designed with homeschool flexibility in mind, encouraging both independent creativity and collaborative projects. Materials Needed

• Laptop computer for use in class and at home
• Canva (free use, or Pro for $15 per month - Pro subscription is recommended)
• Access to a printer for projects

What Students Will Learn

• Confidently navigate Canva and use its tools effectively
• Apply basic design principles to create professional-looking graphics
• Understand the role of color, typography, and layout in design
• Build a cohesive brand identity and apply it across different media
